Educational Opportunities in Osteoporosis.
As part of your role in clinical practice there is a need to keep up to date and be aware of new developments in osteoporosis. Certainly you need to do this in order to stay on your professional register but also because you want to provide the very best in care for your patients. Continuing professional development is now a popular phrase within the NHS but how do you do this in the area of osteoporosis and falls when so few programmes of study exist? Most educational events require you to travel a considerable distance and attend study days and research events.
The University of Derby may be able to help.
The University can advise on all aspects of education in osteoporosis and falls management and can help design learning packages to suit your role and work requirements. The learning can also be tailored to your existing duties and assist in developing you, or your service. This is achieved through the use of negotiated learning units where you define your learning needs and we help and guide you into achieving your educational goals. The learning can be undertaken at different academic levels and small 'bite' sized units of study can be considered.
If most of your learning takes place with colleagues in the work place or you read books and journals on osteoporosis or falls topics purely for interest, use this time effectively, gain academic credit for it and find out more by contacting:.
