Mission Statement

...an opportunity for DXA operators to share knowledge...

>>>This group was founded to provide support to DXA operators within the UK. Anyone can join, provided they are directly involved with one or more of the following:

  • Setting up a DXA unit
  • Running a DXA unit
  • Scanning patients
  • Reporting Scans
  • Writing Protocols.

We also welcome members from Educational Establishments, densitometry-related Societies and Foundations, and DXA-related Companies. This 'associate membership' provides us with a wealth of expertise, educational and technical knowledge and applications support.

>>>We aim to provide members with all the practical information they need to set up and run a DXA service via:

  • Nationwide email network of members for quick access to information
  • Information published on this site
  • Useful links to official guidelines and related websites.

>>>We believe in:

  • Evidence-based practice
  • Continual Improvement in practice
  • High standards of patient-focussed care.

At this stage, the content of this site is not moderated by any professional body or society. We do not intend to replace or contradict any guidelines on practice given by professional bodies or societies. Instead, our aim is to direct members to all current guidelines and legislation, and promote compliance with them.

Our aim is simple!

'To improve standards of patient care and service
provision in Bone Densitometry, through liaison
and communication between DXA operators'.

The DLG was founded by Jessica Wilkinson, a DXA Radiographer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Stadium Road, Woolwich, London SE18 4QH. Please feel free to contact me.
